The research focuses on the interrelation between hydrocarbon emission, traffic flow and speed limit. On the basis of the functioning mechanism of the determining factors relevant to the urban carbon emission, the formation and propagation models are established to reveal the carbon emission generated by the urban traffic system, which results in the evaluation mechanism of the carbon emission by the urban traffic system depending on statistics.
The research results, which help to unravel the development tendency of the carbon emission of China‘s urban traffic system, are fundamental to the theoretical framework for the optimization, management and control of the urban traffic network oriented with the low carbon emission.
